Solid Waste Management

Make sure your dumpsters are clearly signed

Routine harbor and boating activities produce a variety of non-hazardous solid wastes.  These include bottles, plastic bags, aluminum cans, six-pack rings, cigarette butts, fishing line, and styrofoam containers from food and bait.  Harbor facilities can work to ensure that customers know where they can bring their trash and recyclables (where recycling is an option), what they can dispose of in these locations, and how they can help maintain a clean harbor through their actions.
